Established in 2010, Beijing Cenway Bio-energy Technology Co., Ltd (“Cenway Bio-energy”) engages in the production and sales of biodiesel product under the enzymatic catalytic process.
The enzymatic catalytic biodiesel production process has been researched by a number of academic institutions and industry players all over the world but Cenway Bio-energy is the only company which is able to develop a technology package to achieve fully automated commercial production of a sizeable scale with attractive investment returns.
The major advantages of Cenway Bio-energy’s biodiesel technology are that it utilizes low-cost waste oils including used cooking oil (i.e. yellow grease); trap grease (i.e. brown grease or oils from waste food) or gutter oil in China as a feedstock. This technology does not require an upstream refinery process to reduce the acidic value of the waste oil and hence translates to dominant cost advantages over existing single- or multi-feedstock plants all over the world.
The proprietary technology is capable of producing high quality biodiesel and at the same time can solve the gutter oil problems in China. As a result, it has drawn great interest from the Chinese Central Government including President Mr. Xi Jinping who visited Cenway.
A recent lab report shows that the product of the Cenway Bio-energy plant in China has met and exceeded quality requirements of Chinese, U.S. and European biodiesel standards.
President Mr. Xi Jinping (second from right) and Vice-Premier Ms. Liu Yandong (third from right) visited Cenway Biodiesel R&D department, accompanied by Prof. Liu Dehua (first from right), the Chief Scientist of Cenway Bio-energy.
Cenway Bio-energy’s flagship plant in Hunan Province of China is a fully automated plant with a total capacity of 50,000 tons/year and minimum daily production of 100 tons. Meanwhile another plant in Hubei Province was upgraded to a total capacity of 50,000 tons/year and minimum daily production of 80 tons. In 2017, Cenway Bio-energy is expected to realize a total capacity of 200,000 tons/year in Guangdong Province and that will increase Cenway Bio-energy’s total capacity to 300,000 tons/year, making it one of the largest biodiesel companies in China.
TCC invested in Cenway Bio-energy in 2013 and has since assisted the Company to complete three acquisitions including a biodiesel company in Texas, USA as the financial advisor.
TCC has been a dedicated partner in Cenway Bio-energy’s globalization and has worked with Cenway Bio-energy to thoroughly investigate the biodiesel markets in US and Europe and concluded that Cenway Bio-energy should first enter the US market by way of making an acquisition.
