Incorporated in July 2008 in Jiaxing, Zhejiang Province, Zhejiang Cenway Materials Co., Ltd. (“Cenway Materials”) is a national high-tech enterprise focusing on the R&D, production and distribution of new materials. 

The Chairman of Cenway Materials is one of the founders of Tsinghua Tongfang, who is the Dean of Tsinghua Industrial Development Research Institute, established by People’s Government of Beijing Municipality and Tsinghua University in 1998. 

Cenway Materials is currently the largest butyl rubber producer in Asia and ranked No.3 in the world after Exxon Mobil and Lanxess. Its total investment amounts to USD 450 million and the current annual capacity reaches 100,000 tons of butyl rubber from an initial capacity of 65,000 tons and 100,000 tons of halogenated butyl rubber from an initial capacity of 50,000 tons. 

Cenway Materials will install another production line in  2017 to increase its total annual production capacity to 250,000 tons. 

Butyl rubber is an important strategic material that is used in the production of tire, medical rubber plug and curing bladder, with irreplaceability.  Cenway Materials has mastered the production technology of halogenated butyl rubber and is the only company in China that can produce high quality halogenated butyl rubber on a stable and consistent basis making it the third company in the world after Exxon Mobil and Lanxess which can supply high quality halogenated butyl rubber globally. 

Cenway Materials is currently supplying to 7 out of the top 10 world’s tire manufacturers. 

TCC Capital invested Cenway Materials in 2012. Cenway Materials finished the latest financing round in 2016 and the funds will be used to enlarge the butyl rubber capacity as described above.

Cenway Bio-energy’s flagship plant in Hunan Province of China is a fully automated plant with a total capacity of 50,000 tons/year and minimum daily production of 100 tons. Meanwhile another plant in Hubei Province was upgraded to a total capacity of 50,000 tons/year and minimum daily production of 80 tons. In 2017, Cenway Bio-energy is expected to realize a total capacity of 200,000 tons/year in Guangdong Province and that will increase Cenway Bio-energy’s total capacity to 300,000 tons/year, making it one of the largest biodiesel companies in China.
